FOCUS ON PARENTS

TRI’s emphasis on adolescent substance use issues takes place primarily in the Parents’ Translational Research Center and the Section on Adolescents along with the Section on Law & Ethics. Translation of these and other research findings into helping products for parents occurs in the Center or Section itself or is coordinated through the Section on Treatment Research Solutions.

A collaboration with the Betty Ford Institute has allowed TRI to explore critical issues facing the field of addiction and substance use through Critical Issues Conferences.   A brief intervention training tool for adolescent treatment counselors and college health officials was also developed by investigators in the Section on Adolescents.
