The Treatment Research Institute (TRI), a nationally recognized not-for-profit research and development organization, seeks a Research Coordinator for its Law & Ethics Research Section.  The Research Coordinator is primarily responsible for overall administration of regulatory standards and reporting, assisting with the oversight of day-to-day data collection for various studies and supporting the Section Coordinator and scientific staff.  The Research Coordinator reports to the Section Coordinator and works closely with the Scientist and other research staff.

About the Law & Ethics Section
The mission of the Section on Law & Ethics, under the direction of David S. Festinger, Ph.D., is to evaluate the impact of criminal justice programs, polices and the ethical mandates on substance abuse clients and their families and the community. Click here for more on this section.

Research Coordinator Responsibilities Include:

  • Prepare and oversee Institutional Review Board (IRB) and Data Safety and Monitoring Board (DSMB) submissions.
  • Track and monitor IRB, DSMB and other regulatory and reporting requirements.
  • Oversee and manage reporting for Adverse Events and Serious Adverse Events.
  • Track progress of project tasks and deliverables, and prepare reports as needed.
  • Monitor data collection, QA, data entry, tracking and management of report generation, improving quality assurance of data.
  • Assist with data cleaning and preliminary analyses.
  • Assist with budget reviews and petty cash monitoring.
  • Assist in the development and modification of instruments, guides and study training procedures.
  • Work with DMU on development of databases and data management.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in psychology, clinical or health related field and experience with substance abuse and/or behavioral health research studies.
  • At least two years relevant experience with compliance and quality assurance issues in behavioral or sciences field.
  • Strong knowledge of human subjects regulatory requirements.
  • Overall knowledge of data, database structure, data collection sources and systems.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel, and SPSS.
  • Ability to prioritize, problem solve and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
