Treatment Research Institute
The Treatment Research Institute (TRI), a nationally recognized not-for-profit research and development organization, seeks a Research Associate for its Data Management Unit. The Research Associate will support the analytic/statistical needs of TRI scientists and research staff from the various sections and centers within the Treatment Research Institute. The successful candidate will report to Karen Dugosh, Ph.D., Research Scientist II, who will assign and coordinate work, while working closely with TRI scientists and others as needed.

Research Associate Responsibilities Include:
- Working with Principal Investigators and Scientists to develop an applicable statistical analysis plan appropriate to proposed research questions.
- Designing, developing, testing, implementing and documenting statistical programming in SAS.
- Working with TRI’s Data Manager to maintain analyzable study databases.
- Writing syntax and analyzing data using statistical methods, interpreting results, and providing written summaries of data analyses and findings to project team.
- Assisting with writing and editing statistical methods for dissemination activities such as reports, publications and presentations.
- Developing and writing statistical analysis sections of grant proposals and manuscripts.
- Reading and reviewing appropriate biomedical and clinical research literature.
Minimum Requirements:
- Ph.D. or Master’s Degree in mathematics, statistics, behavioral or social sciences
- Two-plus years of experience cleaning, analyzing and summarizing statistical data
- Biobehavioral health research experience a plus (substance abuse, mental health, etc.)
- Expertise with statistical concepts, models and procedures (e.g., descriptive and bivariate statistics, linear regression, logistic regression, repeated measures analysis of variance, non-parametric approaches)
- Strong quantitative and analytical research skills and understanding of research methodology, generalized linear and survival models, mixed effects and marginal models for correlated data
- Strong working experience with statistical packages (knowledge of SAS is highly desirable)
Minimum Qualifications
- Ability to interact effectively with people individually and in groups and to communicate with teams and non-technical colleagues
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
- Ability to work with deadlines and prioritize work
- Attention to detail is essential
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
